Edinburgh Climate Festival 2024

Edinburgh Climate Festival 2024

This past month we celebrated yet another successful edition of the Edinburgh Climate Festival. We were joined by a fantastic variety of local climate related organisations as well as creative individuals looking to share conversations and be inspired by climate action. The day was hosted by the fabulous Mystika Glamoor, who guided us through all the performances, workshops and activities happening throughout the day. The attendees had the opportunity to get involved and interact with the different sections and areas around the festival. Whether they chose to join the ‘How to Create your own Climate Campaign’ workshop at the eco-marquee or connect with nature through meditation and writing exercises in the well- being area, the opportunities available were plentiful.
The event welcomed climate warriors of all ages, with face painting and an interactive musical performance that captivated younger audiences. The art installations were also a huge success not only with the little ones but also with attendees of all ages. With an interactive piano upcycling station on one side of the festival and the majestic Betty the e-waste shark on another, the event truly celebrated how creativity can unlock vast potential when it comes to sustainable practices.
At the main stage, attendees had the chance to dance along to live music, be amazed by performances such as acrobatics, drumming, and the circular economy fashion show or to even to take a moment to rest, grab a bite, sit back and listen to the climate activism open mics. The Festival aims to always remain uplifting and inspiring, covering a variety of themes from connection to nature, adaptation & mitigation, climate literacy, energy, transport, activism, conservation, food & waste.
The ECF team wish to send a heartfelt thank you to every participating organisation, community group and individual for getting involved and making this event possible. To all our partners, collaborators, volunteers & attendees, we sincerely appreciate your involvement and hope you will continue to join us as the festival grows. We would also like to extend a special thank you to our funders – the National Lottery Community Fund, without their support  this event would not be possible.
